1. Scope of Services

Rooted Notary and Background Solutions provides professional services including, but not limited to:

Notary public services
Remote Online Notary (RON) services
Mobile notary services
Fingerprinting services
Identity verification
Background check support

All services are provided in compliance with Ohio Revised Code, applicable administrative rules, and relevant federal regulations.

We do not provide legal advice. Notarization verifies identity and execution only and does not validate the content, legality, or accuracy of any document.

2. Eligibility and Client Responsibilities

By using our services, you represent that you:

Are at least 18 years of age, or are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian when legally permitted
Will provide accurate, complete, and truthful information
Will present valid, unexpired government-issued identification
Will use our services only for lawful purposes

Providing false information or misrepresenting identity may result in refusal of service and potential reporting as required by law.

3. Appointments and Scheduling

Appointments may be scheduled online or through approved communication channels.

Clients are responsible for:

Selecting the correct service
Reviewing service requirements prior to the appointment
Being prepared with all required documents and identification
Arriving on time

Late arrivals may result in shortened service time, rescheduling, or cancellation without refund.

4. Payments and Fees

All fees are disclosed prior to service
Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise stated
Payments are processed through secure third-party providers
We do not store full payment card information

Fees may vary based on service type, location, urgency, or regulatory requirements.

5. Mobile Services Clause

Mobile services are provided at locations requested by the client and are subject to additional fees.

By requesting mobile services, you acknowledge that:

A safe, appropriate, and lawful environment must be provided
The location must allow the notary to perform services in compliance with Ohio law
Unsafe, inappropriate, or unlawful conditions may result in refusal of service

Travel fees are non-refundable once the notary has been dispatched.

6. Remote Online Notary (RON) Services

Remote Online Notary services are provided in accordance with Ohio Remote Online Notary laws and regulations.

By using RON services, you acknowledge that:

Identity verification and credential analysis are required
Audio-visual recording of the notarization is legally required
Electronic records and recordings are securely retained as required by law
Technology failures, identity verification failures, or noncompliance may result in termination of the session

RON services may be refused if legal or technical requirements are not met.

7. Identification and Document Requirements

Valid government-issued identification is required for all notary and identity-related services.

We reserve the right to refuse service if:

Identification does not meet legal standards
Documents appear incomplete, altered, or unlawful
The transaction does not comply with Ohio notary law

8. Fingerprinting and Background Check Services

Fingerprinting services are provided solely for authorized purposes.

Fingerprints are transmitted securely to approved agencies
Rooted Notary and Background Solutions does not control processing times or outcomes
We do not interpret or modify background check results

Clients are responsible for confirming requirements with the requesting agency or employer.

9. Refusal of Service

We reserve the right to refuse or terminate service if:

A request violates the law
Fraud or misrepresentation is suspected
Required documentation is not provided
Client behavior is unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate

Refusal of service does not automatically entitle the client to a refund.

10. Refund Policy Addendum

Refund Eligibility

Refunds may be issued only under the following circumstances:

Duplicate payment made in error
Service canceled by Rooted Notary and Background Solutions prior to initiation

Non-Refundable Services

The following are non-refundable once initiated:

Completed notarizations
Remote Online Notary sessions that begin
Fingerprinting services once prints are captured
Mobile service travel fees
No-shows or late cancellations

Refunds are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed.

11. Privacy and Data Protection

All personal, biometric, and identifying information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in that policy.

12. Accessibility and Accommodations

We are committed to reasonable accessibility and accommodations in accordance with our Accessibility Statement.

Accessibility at physical locations may vary due to building or property limitations. Clients are encouraged to contact us in advance to discuss accommodation needs.

13. Intellectual Property

All website content, including text, logos, graphics, and layout, is the property of Rooted Notary and Background Solutions unless otherwise stated.

Unauthorized use is prohibited.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Ohio law:

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
We are not responsible for document content or legal outcomes
Liability is limited to the amount paid for the service in question

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rooted Notary and Background Solutions from claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

Misuse of services
Providing false or incomplete information
Violations of these Terms and Conditions

16. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
